The best time for in-flight training in Wanaka is during the main flying season from October to April. Early spring can bring strong, turbulent conditions, so pilots should be prepared. For the most consistent flying and active thermals, December through March is ideal. Mornings usually offer calmer winds, making them great for focused learning and progression.
